If you are receiving unemployment benefits in Denmark, you can in some cases continue receiving them in Sweden for a period of up to three months. You need a PDU2 certificate, which you can get from your unemployment fund. You must also register with the Employment Service in Sweden and be available for the Swedish labour market. Contact your Danish unemployment fund for more information about how you apply for work in Sweden with a Danish unemployment fund.

You have only three months

If you do not find a job in Sweden, it is important that you return to Denmark and register with your local job centre before the end of the third month, or you may lose your right to further benefits.

If you find work in Sweden, you can no longer get benefits from Denmark. When working in Sweden, you should register with a Swedish unemployment fund to make sure you are insured against unemployment. When you contact an unemployment fund in Sweden or Denmark as a commuter between the two countries, you need to talk to their EU caseworker.
